Our Simply Asbestos & Mold Test Kit
Asbestos was commonly used in homes and buildings throughout Abbotsford from the early 1900s through the late 1980s, especially between the 1940s and 1970s, because of its strength, fire resistance, and insulating properties. Many properties in Abbotsford built before the 1990s may still contain these original materials today. It was frequently added to popcorn ceilings, drywall joint compound, vinyl floor tiles and sheet flooring, pipe insulation, furnace duct wrap, vermiculite attic insulation, stucco, ceiling tiles, and roofing materials. These materials often look completely normal, which is why they are easily overlooked during renovations in Abbotsford.
The concern comes from microscopic asbestos fibers that can become airborne when materials are cut, sanded, drilled, or otherwise disturbed. Once inhaled, these fibers can remain in the lungs for years and are associated with serious health conditions including lung cancer, mesothelioma, and asbestosis. For this reason, any renovation, demolition, or repair work in homes built before the 1990s in Abbotsford should begin with identifying and testing any suspect materials before work starts.
In many cases, municipalities in and around Abbotsford require asbestos testing to be completed before renovation or demolition permits can be issued, making it an important first step in the process. Simply Asbestos provides a fast, reliable asbestos testing service across Abbotsford, offering easy-to-use test kits and professional lab analysis with clear, private and confidential results delivered in as little as 24–36 hours. This simple, hassle-free process allows you to move forward with confidence, knowing exactly what materials you are dealing with before any work begins.
